We actively support the process of economic and political transition under way for over five years in Central and Eastern Europe.

Facts & Analysis:

The US has acted in support of reforms by using diplomatic links in nations such as the Czech Republic and Poland to assist in establishing trade links.
There has also been financial assistance granted through the World Bank.
The advancement of Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic to become members of NATO is a strong statement to affirm US commitment to these states.
